Student Representatives to the Board of Visitors

Each year the Board of Visitors selects two student representatives to serve on the Board. These students serve as liaisons for student concerns. In the past, one has served the interests of the Prince William and Fairfax Campuses and the other representative has promoted the interests of the Arlington Campus.

2008-2009 BOV Student Representative: Application, Instructions, and Responsibilities

Kate Pisano is a senior in accounting with Dean’s List honors. She is a member of the Mason Ambassadors and was its president last year. During her time at Mason, she served as secretary of University Services for Student Government, a Freshmen Center Peer Advisor, chair of the L-Team (Leadership Training) for the LEAD Office, a four-year member of the President/Provost Student Advisory Council, a lead office assistant for the Office of Student Activities, and vice chair of Homecoming 2006 for the Program Board.

Bryan Painter is a senior in Government and International Politics. He is serving his second term on the Student Senate, serving previously as the parliamentarian and as a member of both the Student Services Committee and the Advocacy and Outreach Committee. He was recognized for his academic achievement in international study in 2007 by Phi Beta. Outside of the academic realm, Painter has worked as a state legislative assistant and has been active in Virginia politics.
