Mariposas Mentoring Program
The Mariposas Mentoring Program is a coordinated effort between Latinas Promoviendo Comunidad/Lambda Pi Chi Sorority, Inc., Mu Chapter and the Office of Diversity Programs and Services (ODPS) to create a support network for freshmen, sophomore, and newly-transferred Latinas at George Mason University in hopes of promoting academic excellence and leadership on campus. Our goal is to provide Latinas at Mason with a strong foundation and network, and to encourage academic excellence and campus involvement
MMP Objectives
- To encourage Latinas to enjoy their college experience at GMU through student involvement in academic and student life activities
- To have all mentors serve as a resource to the women of the program during their first years at GMU
- To encourage unity and to create a support network through mentorship among Latina women on GMU's campus
