You hear their enthusiastic cheers and see their welcoming smiles from miles away – welcoming students to the university with cheers, performances and a tremendous sense of campus pride. Against the backdrop of shuffling feet of new students and families, a few students stand out among the crowd, donning their Green Polos: the Patriot Leaders.
Patriot Leaders are some of the student leaders hailing from the Office of Orientation and Family Programs and Services. These students play a pivotal role as they work throughout the summer, assisting incoming freshmen and transfer students (and their families) as they transition into their new collegiate life at Mason.
These student leaders are resilient and live for the spirit of serving others – introducing thousands of incoming students to campus, leading discussions about life as a Patriot and teaching campus traditions.
The Patriot Leader application is open now and runs through November 28th. Information on how to apply can be found at greenpolo.gmu.edu.
