Fall for Culture: Mason Launches New Global-Themed Events

As a university for the world, George Mason University offers tremendous opportunities to learn more about global cultures and, in some cases, be reminded of home.

Dario Romero is nearly 3,000 miles from his native Ecuador, but he says events like the first “iSoiree: Global Night In” at the new Mason Global Center help him feel closer to home.

The graduate student in telecommunications helped plan the event, hosted by the Division of University Life’s International Programs and Services, along with Global Crossings LLC.

Nearly 200 students, faculty and staff turned out for the event, which featured games and other activities that might be held on a typical “night in” in homes in Mexico, India, South Korea, Romania and the United States.
