Aspiring Peace Corps workers who attend George Mason University will have a leg up on the competition, thanks to the university’s new undergraduate program designed to prepare students for a life of service to others.
A proposal for the program, known as Peace Corps Prep, was submitted in February by George Mason staff and was accepted by the global agency this spring.
Mason is one of less than 30 schools offering this specialized opportunity for undergraduate students, says Jennifer Victor, a Mason political science professor who worked on the proposal.
