Anna Sanders said she was “terrified” her first few days as a freshman at George Mason University. There were new surroundings, unfamiliar faces and uncertainties about how she would fit in.
That all ended, she said, because of Welcome Week, a cornucopia of events and programs designed to educate, acclimate and integrate new and returning students into campus life for the new school year.
“I went with one of my best friends to Mason Mayhem,” Sanders said of the party that takes over the Johnson Center. “I just remember there were so many people; literally, there was something going on everywhere. I met a lot of people I’m still friends with today.”
