INTO Mason began the new year with a new executive director and a host of newly admitted international students at the Mason Global Center. During spring orientation, INTO Mason welcomed more than 150 new students from more than 20 different countries, bringing the total number of current INTO Mason students to 356.
“We were very excited to welcome so many new students from around the world this spring,” said Ilona Castro, marketing and recruitment manager for INTO Mason, citing the partnerships with education counselors and George Mason University’s Office of Admissions. “We’ve been able to reach a wider audience and promote Mason to places we don’t necessarily travel to ourselves.”
Todd Rose was also new to INTO Mason during orientation, starting as executive director after transitioning from his role as associate dean of University Life at Mason. He welcomed new students on Jan. 12 for a weeklong orientation that included a resource fair, English testing, a basketball game and a daytrip to Washington, D.C., where students enjoyed exploring the National Mall and free museums.
