Mason Welcomes Graduate Students with Increased Focus on Student Success

Students come first at George Mason University—and that’s evident in the annual welcome event that will be held for graduate students on Friday, Sept. 5.

This year, Gradstravaganza is more focused than ever on ensuring graduate student success, with new mini-workshops on the Fairfax Campus beginning at 3:30 p.m. on the third floor of the Johnson Center. Topics will include “Pathway through the PhD,” “Managing Limited Time and Multiple Demands,” “Cultivating a Community of Support,” “Building Your Network Now for Your Job Search Later,” “Building an Effective Relationship with your Mentor/Advisor” and “Involvement and Advocacy.” There also will be workshops on fellowships and funding opportunities, and on writing skills.
