Subject: Your Vote, Your Success

I hope your semester is off to a good start!  At Mason, we are committed to ensuring your success, and I want to share a few opportunities that may be of interest to you and also make a request.

National Voter Registration Day – September 22

Important elections are coming up, and we want to provide you with election information and all the materials you need to vote, if eligible, in every local or national election.  This is one way to make your voice heard and I encourage you to participate in our democratic process.

November 4th is Election Day. Residential students can vote on campus in Merten Hall, and if you live off-campus we want to make sure that you know your voting location as well. Take advantage of this convenient opportunity and get registered!

For voter registration and election information, please visit MasonVotes.

Complete Your Beacon Survey: September 28 – October 9

The Beacon Student Assessment survey will help you identify factors related to your success and will provide you with a customized plan for how to make the most of your time at Mason.

Check your email the week of September 28th for instructions on how to complete your Beacon survey and win great prizes. For more information about this initiative and prizes that are available, visit

Clinton Global Initiative University (CGI U)

George Mason University is entering its third year as a member of the CGI U Network, a growing consortium of colleges and universities whose students commit to addressing some of the world’s most pressing challenges.
