TimelyCare’s providers can offer support for a wide range of common concerns, and after talking to you, will decide on the best course of treatment.
• TalkNow: 24/7, on-demand emotional support to talk about anything, including anxiety, relationships, depression, and school-related stressors.
• Scheduled Counseling: Mason students are eligible for 12 free counseling sessions per year. Choose the day, time, and mental health provider that works best for you.
• Health Coaching: Develop healthy lifestyle behaviors for nutrition, sleep habits, time management, and mindfulness.
• Psychiatry: Scheduled appointments are available through referral by CAPS, Student Health Services, or a TimelyCare counselor.
• Self-Care Content: Visit the Explore page within TimelyCare for guided self-care content.
No, TimelyCare providers do not write ESA letters.
Because of federal telehealth regulations, TimelyCare providers are not able to prescribe controlled substances, which include the following categories of medications:
- Controlled substance stimulants for ADHD such as: Ritalin, Adderall, Vyvanse, Concerta
- Benzodiazepines: Xanax, Valium, Ativan, Klonopin
- Opioids/Opiates: Norco, Vicodin, Oxycodone.

To set up your TimelyCare account and access services, you’ll need to provide your school email address, date of birth, sex, physical address, and phone number.
Login activity and app usage details are tracked to enhance platform performance and deliver a high-quality experience. This is done in compliance with HIPAA and FERPA. All the information you provide within the TimelyCare app is encrypted and protected.
Visit details, such as provider notes, diagnoses, and treatments, are recorded to maintain accurate health records. As a HIPAA and FERPA-compliant platform, this information remains confidential and is only used to support care.
At the start of a visit, your provider will ask standard verification questions (e.g. phone number and address), current location, and consent to receive care. You’ll also be asked about your reason for the visit, current feelings or concerns, and any relevant health or personal history. These questions help ensure your safety and allow providers to understand your needs, so they can deliver the best care and support for you.
