It is hard to believe we are already halfway through the summer! If you are still looking for off-campus housing for your student for this fall, the 4th of July holiday can bring about nervousness and anxiety. However, students still searching should know that there are resources and opportunities for you to find a new home before classes start this fall.
First, check out our online resources for finding housing.

Now that we have wrapped up the spring semester and Commencement celebrations, we are gearing up for this year’s Family Weekend, which will take place November 8-10, 2019!
Family Weekend is a long-standing tradition here at Mason, and it is a time for families to come back to campus and experience the same spirit that our students enjoy throughout the year. By participating in this weekend of fun-filled events, you can gain a glimpse into your student’s life at Mason, its academic excellence, and the energy of our vibrant campus.
Members of the largest and most diverse graduating class in George Mason University history were urged Friday at the 52nd annual Spring Commencement to determine how they will make a positive impact on the world, no matter their chosen field of study.
The featured speaker, United Nations Deputy Secretary-General Amina J. Mohammed, called on Mason graduates to be sources of ideas and innovation to confront global challenges as “the leaders and torchbearers our world so desperately needs.”
Mason’s 52nd Commencement on Friday celebrated the graduation of 9,296 students from 48 states and 81 countries, and featured addresses from UN Deputy Secretary-General Amina J. Mohammed and government and international politics major Erik Truong.
Photographers Lathan Goumas and Ron Aira were there to capture all the action.
Meet a few students who will graduate on May 17, with degrees in engineering, math, political science, art history, and film. Learn what they value about Mason.
Mason Day 2019 was a campus-wide celebration on April 26 to celebrate the end of the school year. Check out these photos from Creative Services photographers Ron Aira and Evan Cantwell. Mason Day was also celebrated at Mason Korea. Check out this highlight video for more.
A year’s worth of late-night grocery store trips, care packages, and assembled furniture can leave students with more than they can transport home. George Mason University’s annual Patriot Packout offers students the opportunity to avoid the trash stream and donate their unwanted items to their local community. Rather than discarding them, on-campus students at our Fairfax campus are invited to donate their clothing (clean/lightly used), small household appliances, furniture, and non-perishable food to our campus and community partners in the donation bins placed in each residence hall’s lobby.
