Don’t trash, donate! Patriot Packout

A year’s worth of late-night grocery store trips, care packages, and assembled furniture can leave students with more than they can transport home. George Mason University’s annual Patriot Packout offers students the opportunity to avoid the trash stream and donate their unwanted items to their local community. Rather than discarding them, on-campus students at our Fairfax campus are invited to donate their clothing (clean/lightly used), small household appliances, furniture, and non-perishable food to our campus and community partners in the donation bins placed in each residence hall’s lobby.

Residence hall move-out tips and deadlines

This time of year can be extremely hectic as students prepare for final exams and arrange plans to leave campus for the summer. To help you and your student navigate this busy time, we have compiled information about move-out procedures for students living on-campus. For additional information, visit housing.gmu.edu/housing-options/hall-closings.

This year residential students will be able to check-out of their residence hall using a convenient Express Checkout option. This will allow students and their families the opportunity to move out and finish their check-out process on any day, at any time. Each resident will be expected to attend a Residence Hall Closing floor meeting, hosted by their Resident Advisor, April 25-30 to receive all of the details. RAs will be communicating with students about these important meetings in the coming weeks.

Homecoming 2019 was quite a party

Homecoming 2019 included T-shirt giveaways, a block party, a lip sync battle, a day of service and men’s and women’s basketball games.

Mostly, though, it was a chance to greet old friends and make new ones.

Photographers Ron Aira, Evan Cantwell, Bethany Camp and Rafael Suanes captured it all.
